It seems like Max Payne 3 is still alive, being in limbo for 5-6 years. Similar to Duke Nukem: Forever’s development state, the development of Max Payne 3 has been halted to a crawl since it changed developers from Remedy to Rockstar Vienna then to Rockstar Vancouver. It was pushed aside because of the release of Rockstar Vancouver’s Bully but after the release of bully, the studio again focused on Max Payne 3. It was originally scheduled to release on 2009 but was pushed to 2011 but right now its playing between late 2011 and  late 2012, the main reason(s) for this is the, change of engines (to Rage and Euphoria), new writers and also more development time to polish the game.



Max Payne 3 takes part after 12 years from the  second game, Max has grown old and weary. He has left New York for Brazil because of corruption and dirty politics, and now works as a private security for a wealthy Brazilian family.
