Ubisoft developers and publishers of such games as Tom Clancy’s franchise (Rainbow six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell), Far Cry franchise and the Assassin’s Creed franchise has shocked the PC world by releasing the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 2 with a new DRM ( Digital Rights Management) scheme. The new scheme requires users to have a uninterrupted internet connection, as each event in the game can only be triggered by having the game communicate with the Ubisoft server. So in other words, if you don’t have internet, well you can’t play the game. This scheme has received negative responses through out the consumers but it seems that Ubisoft aren’t listening and it will be sticking with the new DRM scheme for their upcoming games.

This new DRM scheme has been really effective because 3 weeks since the game’s release, there haven’t been any crack version floating on the internet, the main problem with the DRM scheme was when the server was shut down because of counter measures against hackers, all the consumers weren’t able to play the game until the server was up and running which even though the PC version is much superior to its console counterpart, has received very low scores from game reviews because of this DRM scheme.

With all the leechers complaining about the DRM, i feel that UBISOFT did a risky but rather good job implementing the DRM. Even though there are some squirks, a little fine tuning in the server will bring a huge difference. I think we should truly forget game piracy because if there are more companies who are developing games instead of going bankrupt because of piracy, there would be more good games for us to play. I admit i downloaded pirated games to know if a particular game is any good and if its any good on my PC, but if i really like the game and especially the multiplayer aspect, i make it a goal to buy the original game, it is like my ‘thank you’ to the developers for giving me an unforgettable game.

Oh yeah, my last orig game i bought for the PC was NBA 2k10,GTA 4 and Dirt2 .

As a final word, Screw all those people who are just sitting at home playing some pirated games and complaining like shits to game developers and piraters concerning the games’ DRM, fuck you all! get a job and start buying original products, for god’s sake!!

assassins-creed-2 Ezio Auditore da Firenze can only be controlled with an internet!

That’s all for now

Peace Out!!
