*The first article of my new segment every friday, “Eijan’s Recommendation”. As I recommend all the stuffs I like and hopefully you will like it as well.
From the creators of Prison Break, Breakout Kings is about a squad of US Marshals who tries to catch prisoners who have escaped from Prison with the help of some ‘specia’” prisoners. These ‘special’ prisoners are unique and have certain special skills set that can help the US Marshals in their investigation. For the US Marshals to convince these ‘special’ prisoners they had to make a deal. The deal goes,if they agree to help, their sentences will be reduced and they will be transferred to a minimum-security facility. However, if any of them should try to escape, they will all be returned to their original prisons and their sentences will be doubled.
The cast is made of Laz Alonso (Avatar), Domenick Lombardozzi (Entourage,24, Public Enemies), Malcolm Goodwin (American Gangster), Serinda Swan (Tron:Legacy, Percy Jackson) and Jimmi Simpson ( Psych,24, My Name is Earl).
Based on the first 2 episodes, I really enjoyed the beginning of the episode which shows how the prisoner antagonist of the episodes escapes from Prison using some great techniques and ingenuity. Similar how Michael Scofield escapes from Prison with all his planning and surveying of the situation, but this one only took 2 minutes to show rather than 24 episodes *Laughs. Jimmi Simpson was great in the first two episodes, as he play Lloyd Lowery, who is a prisoner with an 210 IQ but was sent to prison for his addiction to gambling, Jimmi portrayal of the character was perfect, as you can really feel the intelligence yet the craziness of the character.
Breakout Kings airs every Sunday night in the states (Monday for us).
The next episode (third of the season) will be about the team will try to capture T-BAG..yah Robert Knepper’s T-Bag, the same character from Prison Break, and I might add, one of the best characters of all-time in a TV Series.
